WHAT IS HUB CERTIFICATION?
Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) is a certification issued by states’ government agencies to recognize businesses that are at least 51% owned and operated by a minority. The certification is designed to provide resources, information, and support to these businesses. Some of the groups eligible for this certification are Latino Americans, African Americans, Asian Americans, the disabled, the economically disadvantaged, Native Americans, and women. HUB certification is usually only given to small businesses, so you know you’re helping to support the community when you buy products or contract services with a certified business.
